Girl falling down a tunnel

 Hey everyone!

For the past week we were doing descriptive writing on a girl falling down a tunnel. First we wrote a plan and then we wrote the 5 feelings, smell, see, feel, feel (emotions) , taste and hear (I think I got all of them) Here is my story it's not perfect so if you have any things that could I fix tell me!

Heres my writing

I was going for my daily walk around the block when I saw something in the corner of my eye. I looked to my left and saw a mysterious sparkle in the trees. My curiosity got the better of me and I found myself walking towards it. Before I could reach it the ground below me crumbled open and I fell into it. Suddenly I was falling down a tunnel.

I saw the beam of light from my world fading away. The cold, stale air pushed against my body. My arms reached out trying to get a grip on something, anything! But the dirt and rocks gathered in my hands and slowly disintegrated soon after. The panic got to me, where was I falling too? What is at the bottom? The deeper I fell the more I got used to my surroundings.Seeing nothing but the light from above fading away. Then I heard voices, multiple voices and before I could listen in BANG! I smashed into the ground.

Dust filled my mouth and a terrible smell pushed past me. The light above me had completely faded away and I was staring into nothing. I felt numb and still. I finally got the courage to get up. I got up but then I tripped on a piece of wood and suddenly I was falling again. This time I was falling past miles and miles of bookshelves reappearing then disappearing, again and again. I felt like I had been falling for decades. My life was flashing before my eyes.

Camp-Reading create tasks

                                                              Hey everyone!

There was no WALT on the Ruru.

Yesterday was the first day of term 4 (for me it was) and for reading our create task/ story's were what Ruru were doing next week! Next week Ruru is going on camp for 3 days so our 3 story's we had to read and our 3 create tasks were based around nature/camp. Before we started on our create tasks we had to read 3 story's they were the danger man, this story is when they were at camp and they decided to go to the lake but one boy got stuck and the had to save him. The second story was School camp fun, this story is about when they got to camp and what the did. The last story was a play and was a bush walk. It was called bush walk too! For Create task 1 we were put into groups for maps and stuff. For Create task 2 we had to make a name tag for our bunks for camp. For Create task 3 we had to learn about things about New Zealand and make a Pickto chart with 10 or more facts on it. This week was really fun and I loved the create tasks

Create task 1: For this one it was fun on paper and it was a map with numbers in each squares. We had to fill in the squares with the drawings we had to do (they were on the side) sorry if my explaining is confusing.

Create task 2: If you had a read through the big text at the top you would have saw that next week Ruru is going to camp and for our cabins and our bunks we got to make tags for our bunks. Mine was on a piece of paper shaped really cool and my bestfriend Shakima drew a eye in the corner and I had light blue blending into the dark blue.

Create task 3: I'm doing it right now!

Chinese language week!

 Hey everyone!

This week is Chinese language week, so our create tasks were based off of that! First we had to read or listen to the story. Then for the create tasks we had 4 that we needed to complete. The create tasks this week are really fun and it can make you learn a lot of new things that you may of not known before. You will see my create tasks that I do down bellow. Comment what you thought of my work!

WALT: Use personal experience and literacy knowledge to make meaning from texts.

Create task 1: For this create task we had to re-create a scene from the story that you liked the most. You could do it on paper or on your Chromebook and I did it on my Chromebook. The comic had to have 5 comic bits.

Create task 2: I haven't done this yet.

Create task 3: For this create task we had 2 pieces of paper and we needed to colour it in. One  side was a ox and the other was a cow. I did this but I didn't take a photo of it.

Writing-the walking beast

 Hey everyone!

This week for writing we were doing pobble365, pobble365 is a website that has lot's and lot's of photos to use for writing. It's a really good way to think of ideas for storys if you can't think of any. I wasn't sure if you had to write a long story or a short poem story so I just did it short. I actually wrote this on Wednesday but I didn't blog it because I was helping doing stuff at home. I got confused because it said to keep working on your lockdown poetry anthology poem but it also said to use pobble 365.  Comment what you think about my writing.

People gasped with fright. Their faces dropped dead on sight. Kids squeezed their toys tight. Oh boy, what a site. Do not fear! As the brave knight appeared over the light.

Subtraction using standard form!

 Hey viewers!

This week for math's, Miss Lee's math's class were doing subtraction using standard form with and without regrouping. Last week we were doing standard form addition with and without regrouping. This was fun to do. At first it was confusing but then it got easier as I did it. This way of working out problems is quick and easy once you learn it. I loved learning how to standard form addition and subtraction. What's your favourite way to work something out? If you see any mistakes tell me!

WALT: Solve subtraction problems using standard form that require regrouping.

Lockdown Poetry Anthology

 Hey everyone!

As you may know the hole of New Zealand is in lockdown at this very moment. Before lockdown we were working on poetry anthology. For lockdown we had to keep on doing poetry anthology but we had to make a new slide and call it lockdown poetry anthology. I am pretty sure when we go back to school and finish our main poetry anthology we will blog it. For this week we could choose to do a haiku poem or a tongue twister poem. I did a haiku poem on lockdown. Comment what you think about my poem. How do you feel about lockdown?
