Summer learning journey-Vector Art Decoration

Hey everyone!

Today I decided to do one of the activities for the Summer learning journey! I wanted to create a Vector Art Decoration because it sounded like a lot of fun and I wanted to give it a go! Activity 1: Kick start! I was inspired by a hourglass type of shape but I changed the actual shape to diamonds but the same sort of outside shape of the hourglass if that makes sense?  I wanted to make it green and red because I like those colours and I also wanted some short of shape inside the diamond!  Some tips I would recommend is to add different shapes because it makes it look really cool and adds detail. Also maybe a lot of different colours (if you want) to make it stand out. My last tip would be to make it a unique shape and not just a circle for your decoration. Activity 2: Step it up.

Activity 1: Kick start! This is what I have created!

Activity 2: Step it up, this is what I have done for this activity!
I have started to do this activity but I have to stop now because I have to go for the weekend so sorry if I don't finish it.
I don't have any tips so far as I have just started doing it. I have decided to do the rock because I like his acting he does. Even though this is NOT finished I will still show you!

  1. Kia ora Amelia,

Wow well done with your vector art Christmas decoration! I hope you had fun completing this activity.

It's very colourful and brightened up my day. I like how you used Christmas colours and the little images.

Are you excited for Christmas? I can't believe it is next week!! This year has gone so fast.

I’m marking this post as an outstanding blog post, well done with your creation and the explanation of what you did, and why you did it. Awesome mahi. Great work also beginning the step up activity.

I’m looking forward to seeing your next blog and other creative work during the Summer Learning Journey.

    Ngā mihi,
    Lauren

  2. Kia ora Amelia, Matua Jacob here. Well done with your Vector art! The first thing I have to say is that your Christmas decoration is killing it! It's so good! Heaps of detail with such a simple design and very eye catching!

Secondly great attempt at the rock! You have got the general outline looking awesome and I would love to see how you go with his features! For him using the zoom tool will be very helpful to get the small details. Especially around the eyes and nose. One thing I really like is how you have done his shirt it looks really cool and with only two colours it some how really stands out and looks exactly what it should!

Keep up the great work and keep going with the Vector art! I think you have the potential to make something absolutely fantastic!
