Italy

 Hey everyone!

My class has been learning and finding information about Italy. We have been learning about it because our school is having a school production. In this production people will be acting. Every class has a different country (2 country's each) My class got New Zealand and Italy. So that is why we have been learning about, things to do, famous foods and much more. It was really fun learning about Italy because I didn't know much but now I know stuff! For this we had to make a poster or slide show etc. Then we put all of the information we learnt about on it.

WLJ Activity 19

                                                           Hey everyone!

As you may know it's the school holidays! Some of you might have done summer learning journey and some of you might be doing the winter learning journey. Well this holidays I am doing the winter learning journey! Today I have done activity 19! This activity was to choose a town/city you want to visit for 2 weeks from your country of study. Create a holiday plan of what you will do during this time. Explain and justify your choices. I wanted to do this activity because it sounded really fun and because if you didn't know what you could do at that place you could do some research. I did Hawaii because it's a really peaceful place and it's calm. This activity was really fun and entertaining and there are more really cool activities. To find out what I could do there I looked it up and I was reading some really cool things to do. I picked out the ones I wanted to do the most. Comment what you think about my work!

This is my holiday plan:

Albert Einstein!

                                                        Hey everyone!

WALT: Locate and summarise important information to a range of related texts. I think this means to take all the texts of information that you were reading/watching then put all that information into a small sentence and to relate with other texts.

Last week and last week Ruru was reading about famous people! Last week I did Anne Frank and this week I Albert Einstein! This was really fun to read because Albert Einstein is really smart and interesting. This week we have the same create tasks as last week. Before we did our create tasks we had to read the main texts and then we had to read the texts (Complementary and challenge) Just in case you don't know who Albert Einstein is: Albert Einstein, (born March 14, 1879, Ulm, Württemberg, Germany died April 18, 1955, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.), German-born physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity and won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect.

Create task 1: For this create task you had to write what happens in the main texts and the 2 other texts and stuff! This was really fun to do.

Create task 2: For this create task you had to make a copy of a google drawing and fill it out. This was really fun because I liked writing down all the facts I learnt! Also there was a part 2 for create task 2 and it was why that person is an inspiration! I liked doing that because I find Albert Einstein really interesting.

Part 2:

Create task 3: Come up with how you can be inspirational. The part 2 is to make a inspirational poster.

You can be inspirational by following your dreams, never giving up and having a big imagination. By trying new things and staying on the positive side!

Private or personal information.

 Hey everyone!

For Cybersmart today we did something called private or personal information. This is where there was a lot of different things and you had to choose if it was private or public. If it was private that means you wouldn't share it online like your phone number. If it was public it would be safe and not private like your hobbies. This was fun to do. Everyone also had there own opinions so some people had different things! But some of the things were a bit boring. I rate this task a 4/5. Do you agree or disagree with my work?

Natural disasters information reports!

Hey everyone!

The past couple of weeks Ruru has been learning about natural disasters! We did 2 others abut for the independent one I did tsunamis! This was really fun to do! First we had to read things about tsunamis and watch videos! Then we had to write the facts down. Then when we had enough information I had to create a information report about tsunamis! The other one I did was bush fires we had to do the same for tsunamis as well. The last one I did was tornadoes. This was really fun because I liked learning all the new things!

This is my information report for tsunamis:

Bushfires

By Amelia

What is a bushfire? A bushfire is a large fire in the scrub or forest that can quickly get out of control. Bushfires in Australia are a widespread and regular occurrence that have contributed significantly to shaping the nature of the continent over millions of years. They can be very dangerous when they occur where people farm and live.

Why are bushfires dangerous? Because they can kill animals. They can spread very fast and can get very bad. Bushfires can burn down houses and peoples land. Large particles in bushfire smoke irritate the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. The finer particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and are more harmful. Smoke also contains toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxides.

What causes a bushfire to start? Bushfires can be started by natural causes, such as lightning strikes, or by people (accidentally or on purpose). Materials such as leaf litter, bark, small branches and twigs, grasses and shrubs can provide fuel for bushfires. Dry fuel is more likely to catch fire and burn easily damp or wet fuel may not burn. Also when it is very dry.

How can you stop a bushfire from happening? regularly mowing the grass and raking up leaves. 1. removing weeds and pruning bushes and trees. 2. keeping garden beds moist through mulching or other non-flammable ground covers like pebbles. 3.regularly clearing leaves from gutters, roofs, downpipes and around the base of trees. If you find that there is a bushfire, get as far away as possible.

This is my information report on tornadoes:

Tornadoes Information report

Have you ever seen a tornado in action before? They can be so powerful that they can suck up big buildings! They can last up to 17 hours.

What is a tornado? A tornado is a violent rotating column extending from a thunderstorm to the ground. The most violent tornadoes are capable of tremendous destruction with speeds up to 500 mh per hour. Tornadoes can suck up things like cars, houses and much more.

Do you know how tornados are formed? When a large thunderstorm occurs, warm air meets dry air and then it forms a big or small tornado! There are lots of types of tornadoes as well.

There are different types of tornadoes. Supercell is a long violent tornado! A supercell can make some of the most violent tornadoes. A waterspout is a tornado that forms over water however when it gets to the ground disappears. Landspout is like a waterspout but on land. It is weak and is associated with the spinning of a thunderstorm.
